Sylvia’s Room

Clay, Video

These past years, Sylvia Plath’s fig tree analogy has weighed on me extensively. The idea that you can only pick one life at a time is infuriating when there is so much I want to do. I chose a path, and it’s the one I wanted. But even when I’m where I want to be I’m still looking outside, wondering what’s in the figs I left behind. Sometimes there’s comfort in wondering what’s was instead of being with what you have. I just didn’t think I’d feel this way after getting a life I want.
